Christmas Mantel

Hi there!  Today I want to share my fireplace mantel all decked out for Christmas.  I try to do something different every year...without buying all new stuff. 

You know me, I'm all about saving a dollar where I can! 

I really like how it turned out this year...probably because my Mom helped me put it together. 

I'll let the pictures do the talking today. 

It wouldn't be a cozy Christmas post without the Doggo wrapped up in a blanket :)

That little face kills me.  He's such a cutie!

Cinnamon Sugar Pumpkin Muffins

Here they finally are!  I made these muffins a couple months ago and they were awesome!

My topping didn't some out like hers ( who knows where I went wrong?!) It just sort of sank into the muffins.  Haha

But they were definitely delicious and easy to make.  You should give them a try!

I used regular (lactose free) milk and pumpkin from my freezer.  But everything else was the same.

Also if you need a good laugh, check these funny tweets out.  They killed me.  The picture of the little boy touching the giant ornament looks just like my youngest nephew.  He would totally do the same thing, too.  He's such a little rebel.

Things I Think I LOVE!!

So now I feel like I'm making up for lost time.  2 posts in 2 days?!?!  I'm going to try to be better about posting more regularly.

Today's Things I Think I LOVE is about the holidays.  Things I definitely want or things I already have.  Are you ready?

1. Pillow - I have 2 red and white buffalo check pillow covers that I love for the holidays.  I think this truck postcard pillow would be so cute with them.  Maybe it will go on my list for Santa...

2. Ribbon - In my post earlier this week I had mentioned wanting to add buffalo check ribbon to my christmas tree.  This one would be perfect.  Now I just need to find time to go get it and my tree will be perfect!

3. Snowflake - This website is so fun.  Give it a try!

4. Cake Stand - I love the way a cake stand looks piled with Christmas cookies.  I will definitely be filling this up for Christmas this year.  We actually bought this cake stand for our wedding 4 1/2 years ago.  It is still so useful!

5. Candle - I know Vanilla Peppercorn sounds weird, but this candle seriously smells so good.  My sister is always burning it and it makes me want to go buy some.  She always finds the best stuff!

6. Bench - Ok, so, this one isn't holiday related, but I just love it. Nate and I are going to be building a mini mudroom area in our basement (main entrance from the driveway) and I would love a bench like this for setting bags or taking shoes off.  We both love the rustic industrial style, and for the price this might be the perfect option!

Miss me?

Hi Friends!  I'm sorry I've been MIA.  This year is moving at the speed of light!  

I have a lot of updates for you.

I did make those pumpkin muffins I had mentioned in my last post.  I will add the recipe here later this week.  They were super yummy!  My niece and nephews approved!

In more recent news - the house is decorated for Christmas and the cookie baking is going to begin this weekend!

I'll check back soon to let you know what I plan to make.  Until then here's a picture of Chester from last night.  I still want to add a black and red buffalo check ribbon to this tree.  I'm not sure if it's going to happen this year or if I will just keep it as is.  We will see.

He loves to sit on the back of the sofa...do any of you know how to get the cushions back to a regular shape?  Or should I even bother?  Oh well... until next time.
