Things I Think I LOVE!

 Hey all!!

It's been a while.  I'm back today with another Things I Think I LOVE!

This is the time of year that I really try to evaluate what I am spending my money on.  I always try to only buy things I love but sometimes that's more difficult than others.  These are all good ones though!

1. The Awakening - These books are amazing!  I loved the whole series.  I just got the last book for Christmas and finished it in record time.  I had to know what happened!!

2. Pillow inserts - I made throw pillow covers for my sister and this insert is so soft and a great price.  They have a bunch of size options.  So you can find what works for you!

3. Shelves - We are almost finished with the kitchen renovation.  I hung up these shelves last weekend.  They look great!  I'll be sure to share a pic of them in my space as soon as we're done.  I only used 2 so far.  I'm not sure where I'll put the third but I'll find a spot for it!

4. Planner & weekly sheets - I am trying really hard to be more organized with my time this year.  I hope these 2 items will help with that.  Do you use  planner?  What are your best tips?

Happy New Year!!

Heather

Things I Think I LOVE

Happy New Year!!!  Have you made your resolutions?  Hopefully we can all stick to them this year!

Today I am sharing things that have been on my mind(or in my shopping cart) lately.  Here are a few things that I'm pretty sure I love :)

1. Leggings - These are so soft!  They are a bit on the thin side but with a tunic top - like this one - They are perfect for staying home and staying comfy!

 2. Central Vacuum covers - as you know, we have been working on a dining room renovation.  The central vac outlet in this room has never worked and was old and ugly.  I ordered these replacement covers and now I want them for the whole house!  So much better!

3. The one and only Ivan - My niece recommended this book for me.  I haven't started it yet, but it is next on my list!

4. Cabinet - I ordered this cabinet for dining room storage.  I haven't put it together yet.  I will let you know my final thoughts on it when I post the dining room reveal!  I did order these knobs to replace the ones that come with it.

What are you loving so far in 2021??

Heather

2020 Reading

I'm weird when it comes to reading...

Let me back up.  I love to read.

Like, truly LOVE IT!!

If I could read all day every day I would.

But I'm weird in that I am always reading more than one book at a time.  Right now I have 3 going.  (4 if you count business books...which I don't.  Super boring)

I keep one in my car that I read on my lunch break.  Or if I get to an appointment early.

I keep one in the living room that I read when I'm not interested in what is on TV.

and I keep one on my nightstand that I read before I fall asleep.

I usually have read at least one of them before.  So I don't get too confused.  Also, they are all different genre's.

Right now I am reading Revolutionary Road by Richard Yates on my lunch breaks.  It's not really my favorite, but I got it out of the free bin at 2nd and Charles.  So I figured I would give it a chance.  So far it is just pretty sad.

Unsweetined by Jodie Sweetin in the living room.  I just stared this one.  I like it so far.  I'm a fan of memoirs.  Mostly because I'm nosy and want to know about peoples lives. :)

The black dagger brotherhood's Lover Enshrined by JR Ward on my nightstand.  This is such a great series.  You really feel like you know all the characters.  I would definitely recommend it if you like smut novels.

What are you reading?  I am always on the lookout for new recommendations!

XOXO,

Heather

Simple mantel

Happy Friday everyone!  Today I am sharing my simple winter/spring mantel.

After the holidays this year, I felt stuck.

I left my mantel empty for weeks.

I didn't have any idea what to do.

I started going through my decor and found a picture that I had forgotten about.  It belonged to Nate's grandparents.  It's one I have always loved.  I decided to keep everything pretty simple around it.

I added the candle sticks Nate made for me with some books and called it a day.  (do you see Chester's reflection in the glass? :) He's such a cutie)

Do you struggle after Christmas is put away?

It definitely helped me to clear everything off and start with a blank slate.

Hopefully the summer transition will be easier.  Fingers crossed!

XOXO,

Heather

Things I Think I LOVE!!

Things I think I LOVE!  I love so many things.  But most importantly, I love so many people!  I spent last weekend with my Mom and Sisters.  We had the best time just talking and being together. Getting home from my sisters house in Georgia was an adventure, (our flight was canceled...we ended up renting a car and driving back to PA!!!) but it was a great visit.

Today I am sharing things that have been on my mind(or in my shopping cart) lately.  Here are a few things that I'm pretty sure I love :)

1. Marie Kondo - I don't know about you, but I am loving all the hype about Marie Kondo.  I received her first book a couple of years ago and have been slowly trying to make sure everything in my home sparks joy.  Her show on Netflix is so good.  She is absolutely adorable and so sweet.  I love that she doesn't want anyone to throw everything away; just make sure they love what they have.  If you haven't watched the show or read her book, you definitely should!

2. Charming Charlie -  I was shopping with my aunt a couple of weeks ago and she took me to Charming Charlie.  The minute we walked in the door I was so excited.  I love accessories and everything was organized by color!  It was like a dream.  Haha :)  My little sister recently got engaged so of course I was drawn to all the wedding items.  This planner might end up in her hands.

3.  Soft pretzel bites - I love soft pretzels.  Especially in bite sized form.  Why is everything better in mini?  Maybe because they are cuter?  Either way they are delicious.  And I am always looking for easy recipes.  I am going to give this one a try.  I'll keep you updated!

4. Where the Heart Is - I loved this movie when I was younger, so when my sister was reading the book I knew I had to borrow it.  Both are so good!  I seriously recommend it!

That's all for today.  Later this week I should have a simple mantel decor post and maybe the befores from our office renovation!  It's moving along nicely!  Have a great day!

XOXO,

Heather

Things I think I LOVE!!

Hi everybody!   I hope you all had a good weekend!  We went Kayaking on the lake near our house and got burned to a crisp!  I don't know how I made it 32 years and still don't remember to put on sunblock.  Maybe this burn will make me remember in the future!

Today I am sharing all the things I think I love this week.

1.      Newsies on Broadway –When I was a kid Newsies was one of my favorite movies.  It’s such a good story and Christian Bale was the best.  Plus it’s a musical!  That being said, the Broadway production might be even better.  I really love the movie, but watching the Broadway version I was seriously torn!  I think I still love them both but just in different ways.  My sister said it best…”I spent the first half of the Broadway production wanting to watch the movie and the second half wanting to start it over and watch it again!”  It doesn’t hurt that Jeremy Jordan is a total stud.  Either way I suggest checking it out.

2.      Nutcracker – I bought a bag of mixed nuts.  When I got home I realized we don’t have a nutcracker!  I have been looking at different options and at first I was just going to go with the standard run of the mill nutcracker.  Then I saw this…       It looks so much more interesting.  If I am going to be leaving it out on my bar I want it to fit my design.  This is definitely on my to buy list.

3.      Eye Mask – Nate has been talking about adding a monitor to our bedroom.  So when he wakes up in the middle of the night he doesn’t have to go downstairs to check out the cameras.  I don’t know about you but light disturbs my sleep.  At first I gave him an outright no, but as I was thinking about it more I realized I can get an eye mask and we can both be happy.  This will help keep the sunlight from waking me to early too.  Win win!

4.      Hyperbole and a half – My mom gave me this book to read.  I couldn’t put it down.  The stories are so funny and relatable.  I love how honest and open she is.  Definitely one to put on your reading list.

5.      Succulents – I love the look of succulents.  However, I cannot keep plants alive.  When I found these faux succulents at the dollar tree I could not pick them up fast enough!  They are actually really good looking and for only $1 I couldn’t be happier.  Now I just have to figure out where I want to put them.

What do you love??

Heather

Things I think I LOVE

Hello, hello!!

Today I am sharing things that have been on my mind(or in my shopping cart) lately.  Here are a few things that I'm pretty sure I love :)

1.  Duvet cover - We just upgraded from a queen bed to a new king sized bed.  So that means I got to get all new bedding!  I wanted something that is calming and relaxing but still has a pop to it.  This duvet cover fit that bill perfectly.  I love that it's 100% cotton but has a linen-y look to it.  Now I just have to find new pillows and throws to accent.

2.  Maxi skirt - Last summer I was visiting my sister and she was wearing a maxi skirt.  I never thought I could pull something like this off but after seeing her in one I had to have one too!  Is that typical little sister behavior or what?!

3.  Sweet Tea - It is finally starting to feel like spring here in Pennsylvania.  It put me in the mood for a nice glass of sweet tea.  I broke out my trusty recipe and made a pitcher.  I'll share the recipe later this week for you!  It's so easy and I love that I can control how much sugar I am putting into it.  Not that I'm a health freak or anything,  I just like to know what is in my food and drinks :)

4.  The Circle Trilogy - Nora Roberts - I am always reading, usually more than one book at a time.  In fact right now I have 3 books going.  Nate thinks I'm crazy but I like to have a book wherever I happen to be.  One in the living room, one on my nightstand, etc.  Right now I am loving the Circle Trilogy by Nora Roberts.  It's the right mix of adventure, fantasy, and romance.  I highly recommend it.

That's all I have for today.  What are a few things you love?

XOXO,

Heather
